Cotton Field Sunset was inspired and developed based on actual life events of a Texas family, whose names have been changed to protect their privacy.

The main characters in Cotton Field Sunset, William, Pearl, Gordon and Abby Carpenter had their lives changed forever when Pearl decided to visit her sister and brother-in-law, who lived on a farm in the cotton ficlds of west lexas.

Cotton Field Sunset is about a painful memory that Gordon Carpenter can’t let go of, and it is the only memory he has of his late mother, Pearl. However, Cotton Field Sunset is also about moving forward, which Gordon portrays when he has a family of his own and relates to his son the happy moments of being raised by his favorite aunt and uncle, along with his older sister, Abby, on that farm in the cotton helds.
